The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
